Discover our parasol bases
What would a parasol be without its base? Once you've chosen the model that best suits your garden, whether it's a straight , tilting , or cantilever parasol, you'll need to equip it with the base that will keep it stable in all circumstances. Among parasol accessories, the base often receives less attention than the canopy or the pole, even though it's an essential element , both practically and aesthetically.
A few chairs, a garden table with a hole in the center: you might think you could simply slide the parasol pole into it, provided it's exactly the right diameter. But that would be ignoring the laws of physics, which would cause your parasol to topple over at the first opportunity. You therefore need a system to secure and weigh down the pole, using a suitable base or stand.
Belveo parasols are sold without a base, allowing you to select the appropriate model based on your terrain, personal taste, and parasol type. The base's primary function is to weigh down the parasol and secure it firmly to the ground. Depending on the size of the parasol, it can be a cross base , a wheeled base , or even a concrete or cement slab . All these products are available for delivery from Belveo and can be chosen to match the canopy color : black , white , or anthracite gray .
The casters ensure complete mobility
Choosing a parasol base with wheels guarantees you can position it wherever you want, moving it simply and quickly depending on the sun's position and the activity at hand. This solution is particularly well-suited to lightweight parasols of a reasonable size.
However, care must be taken to ensure the parasol isn't too exposed to strong winds. A minimum of weighting is recommended, unless the patio is completely sheltered. Fortunately, it's possible to add weight to the wheeled base by pouring water or sand into the plastic base, thus preventing the parasol from blowing away unexpectedly! To move the base, simply turn the crank, which raises it and reveals the wheels.
On this type of base, you can fix both a straight parasol and an offset parasol; in the second case, it is essential to weight the base to prevent the whole thing from tipping over due to an imbalance of weight.
Belveo 's wide range of wheeled stands allows for a variety of options to suit all preferences. The Meltem model features four 360° rotating casters that can be easily extended and retracted.
The Kona model represents the next generation of wheeled parasol bases; it is the most advanced in the range and features a unique and elegant design . Its wheels can be easily extended and retracted thanks to an innovative mechanism. All these models are compatible with all cantilever parasols available on the Belveo website, with the exception of the Meltem base, which cannot be used with the Mistral 3x4m cantilever parasol.
The plastic base has the advantage of not rusting, is weather-resistant, and requires less maintenance than a steel base. However, it can be slightly more fragile and cannot provide the same level of stability as a concrete base.

Fixed bases: a discreet solution for parasols intended for permanent use.
If the parasol is intended to remain in the same location year-round, it can be advantageous to secure it to a base fixed to the ground. The benefit lies in the space used: there's no need to weigh down the base since it's firmly screwed to the patio.
The Belveo Plug and Play base offers a simple, stable, and discreet fixing solution for straight parasols. Unlike models that require in-ground installation, it requires minimal tools: a hammer drill, chemical anchoring if needed , and wall plugs or anchors suitable for the type of ground.
Be careful to choose the shaded area for which the parasol is intended: once the base is fixed, it would be a shame to move it and thus reveal the holes drilled in the ground of the terrace.
Cross-shaped legs, a practical solution for weighting down the parasol
The cross base, with its simple structure, has enjoyed unwavering success across generations. Its principle is effective: a steel base in the shape of a cross stabilizes the parasol pole when four heavy concrete slabs are placed on it. If the parasol is neither too wide nor too heavy, the cross base can also be fixed with screws, eliminating the need for the cumbersome slabs.
All parasol frames can be fitted to this type of perfectly weighted base. A small straight parasol, a large cantilever parasol with a rectangular canopy, or even a tilting parasol can be attached to it to adjust the shade.
The Fogony cross base offered by Belveo is compatible with several straight parasols and combines lightness with high strength. We also offer a cross base specifically designed for cantilever parasols.
The Ostro slabs that can be found at Belveo are compatible with most types of parasols, and with our two models of cross bases.
The Belveo website, a tool for choosing the right parasol base
Whatever type of base you are leaning towards, it is always a good idea to seek advice before deciding, depending on the size and weight of the parasol, the configuration of the terrain and the intended use.
On the Belveo website, a form allows you to check the compatibility between accessories and parasols , or to ask questions regarding the purchase of your base, its price, its stability, or the delivery conditions.
