Polyester, olefin or acrylic?

The main difference between our parasols lies in the fabric. Polyester is the affordable option for enjoying our innovative product. Olefin offers the ideal compromise. Acrylic is the uncompromising choice for excellence.

POLYESTER CANVAS

The most accessible

This fabric is ideal for use a few weeks a year. On our polyester canvases, we've enhanced the colorfastness treatment, moving from the "classic" treatment (found on almost all entry-level retailers) to a stronger, more effective, and longer-lasting one. However, polyester, especially in dark colors (gray, taupe), will eventually fade.

OLEFIN CANVAS

The best value for money

These are excellent quality fabrics, priced between polyester and acrylic for semi-intensive use. With a matte finish and a silky feel, this fabric offers better ventilation than polyester.

THE ACRYLIC CANVAS

The very best!

This is the most durable fabric for heavy-duty or professional use. Developed by Dickson®, our premium canvases are solution-dyed acrylic. The visual appearance will differ from polyester or olefin, offering a superior quality look, a more pleasant feel, and colorfastness, even after years of use!

UV resistance

Our fabrics offer maximum UV protection with a UPF 50+ rating . Fade resistance depends on the fabric type and dyeing process used. Thanks to the solution dyeing process, which dyes the fiber throughout, acrylic and olefin fabrics retain their color longer than polyester.

Your questions

How do I clean my parasol canopy?

Clean stains as soon as they appear to prevent them from setting in. For delicate care, hand washing is recommended: immerse the fabric in lukewarm water mixed with 150ml of mild soap per liter, gently rub with a sponge or soft brush, then rinse thoroughly and let it air dry. For more stubborn stains (except on polyester fabrics), a diluted bleach solution can be used: mix 1 liter of water, 150ml of mild soap, and 5cl of bleach in a spray bottle, apply to the entire fabric, let it sit for 10 minutes, clean with a sponge, and rinse thoroughly.

If you prefer, machine wash: remove the cover, close the zippers, and wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle with your usual amount of detergent. If mold is present, add 5 cl of bleach (not suitable for polyester) and start the machine immediately to thoroughly dissolve the product. Once clean, always allow your canvas to air dry.

Finally, never store or close your parasol while the canopy is still damp to prevent mold, and keep it away from reflective surfaces or heating elements that could damage it. With these simple steps, your canopy will remain clean and in perfect condition, season after season.

How do I change the canopy of my parasol?

Replacing your parasol canopy will only take 5 to 10 minutes . If there are two of you, it will be even faster, but don't worry, it can easily be done alone. A stepladder will be needed to reach the top of the parasol. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Open the zippers located on each fiberglass rib and carefully remove them by bending them slightly.
2. Unscrew the "cap" at the top of the parasol to release the canopy, then slide it upwards.
3. Position the new canvas, close the zippers on each fiberglass rib.
4. Screw the cap back on, and that's it: your parasol is ready for more outdoor moments.

Which fabrics are compatible with my parasol?

All the canopies available on our website are compatible with Belveo or Easywind 8-rib parasols. To find out which canopy is compatible, first identify the size and type (straight or cantilever) of your current parasol. Then, simply find the corresponding canopy. For example, if you have a 3x3m straight parasol, the corresponding canopy will be the 3x3m straight parasol canopy. Next, you will need to identify the year of your parasol to find the compatible canopy. All canopies from 2022 and earlier are compatible with parasols from 2022 and earlier. All canopies from 2023 and later are compatible with parasols from 2023, 2024, and 2025. Can't find your compatibility? Don't hesitate to contact us at contact@belveo.com

Are you unsure about the size of your parasol canopy?

For a round parasol: Measure your parasol canopy by placing your measuring tape at the top of your parasol, at the "hood." Measure the distance between the top of your parasol and the end of one of your fiberglass ribs. This will give you an approximate size for the canopy that fits your parasol. For a square or rectangular parasol: Measure your parasol canopy by placing your measuring tape at the end of one side of your canopy. Measure the distance from one end of your parasol to the other. Then do this again on an adjacent side. Your parasol has 6 ribs and you can't find your canopy? Even if some models are no longer in production, we sometimes still have replacement canopies in stock that are not listed on our website. Feel free to email us at contact@belveo.com to explain your situation. We'll be happy to help.

I can't find a canopy that fits my parasol on your website. What should I do?

If you cannot find a canvas that exactly matches the characteristics of your current canvas:

1. The dimensions of the canvas you are looking for do not appear (example: canvas with a diameter of 2.80m)
2. The desired color does not appear on our website (for example, you want an ecru canvas but the compatible canvas is only available in grey)
3. You find a compatible canvas but it is out of stock

So, the website you are looking for does not exist or no longer exists.

We strive to offer our customers products with the longest possible lifespan. This is one of the reasons why we chose to create interchangeable parasol canopies.

However, our product range has evolved considerably over time. Therefore, we no longer sell certain canopies that correspond to parasol models predating at least 2016. We apologize for this inconvenience.
