What are the differences between polyester, olefin, and acrylic fabrics?

We offer three canvas options to meet your needs:

- Polyester canvasIdeal for a first investment, it offers excellent value for money. Its finish is light and glossy, but it may fade more quickly with heavy use or in direct sunlight. It's an affordable option for discovering our patented innovation.

- Olefin fabricOur best compromise between aesthetics, durability, and price. The color is infused into the fiber, retaining its vibrancy for years and offering superior resistance to fading (5-year guarantee). Its matte finish and soft feel are reminiscent of indoor fabrics, while providing the necessary durability for outdoor use. Water-repellent, it quickly wicks away moisture, dries in a flash after a downpour, and withstands splashes during poolside days. Easy to care for, it can be simply washed with soapy water or machine-washed at up to 30°C.

- Acrylic canvasThe benchmark in high-end fabrics, thanks to its exceptional performance under the most demanding conditions. Using a solution-dyeing process, the color pigments are integrated directly into the acrylic fiber while it is still liquid, creating a yarn that is colored throughout. The result: vibrant colors that resist UV rays and weathering, far surpassing those of conventional surface-dyed fabrics. We are so confident in the quality of this fabric that it comes with a 7-year guarantee against fading. It offers a perfect balance between performance and elegance, ideal for long-term, intensive, or professional use.

Furthermore, all our canopies are interchangeable: whether you wish to change its color or replace a worn canopy, the process is simple and quick to extend the life of your parasol.

Which fabrics are compatible with my parasol?

All the canopies available on our website are compatible with Belveo or Easywind 8-rib parasols. To find out which canopy is compatible, first identify the size and type (straight or cantilever) of your current parasol. Then, simply find the corresponding canopy. For example, if you have a 3x3m straight parasol, the corresponding canopy will be the 3x3m straight parasol canopy. Next, you will need to identify the year of your parasol to find the compatible canopy. All canopies from 2022 and earlier are compatible with parasols from 2022 and earlier. All canopies from 2023 and later are compatible with parasols from 2023, 2024, and 2025. Can't find your compatibility? Don't hesitate to contact us atcontact@belveo.com

Are you unsure about the size of your parasol canopy?

For a round parasolTo measure your parasol canopy: place your measuring tape at the top of your parasol, at the level of the canopy's "cap." Measure the distance between the top of your parasol and the end of one of your fiberglass ribs. This will give you an approximate size of canopy compatible with your parasol.

For a square or rectangular parasolTo measure your parasol canopy: place your measuring tape at one end of the canopy. Measure the distance from one end to the other. Then repeat this process on an adjacent side.

Your parasol has 6 ribs and you can't find your canopy? Even if some models are no longer in production, we sometimes still have replacement canopies in stock that aren't listed on our website. Feel free to contact us atcontact@belveo.comto explain your situation to us. We will be happy to help you.

How do I change the canopy of my parasol?

Replacing your parasol canopy will only take you5 to 10 minutesIf there are two of you, it will be even faster, but don't worry, it can easily be done alone. A stepladder will be needed to reach the top of the parasol.

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Open the zippers located on each fiberglass rib and carefully remove them by bending them slightly.

2. Unscrew the "cap" at the top of the parasol to release the canopy, then slide it upwards.

3. Position the new canvas, close the zippers on each fiberglass rib.

4. Screw the cap back on, and that's it: your parasol is ready for more outdoor moments.

How do I clean my parasol canopy?

Clean stains as soon as they appear to prevent them from setting in.For delicate care, hand washing is recommended.Soak the canvas in lukewarm water mixed with 150ml of mild soap per liter, gently rub with a sponge or soft brush, then rinse thoroughly and let it air dry. For more stubborn stains (except on polyester fabrics), a diluted bleach solution can be used: mix 1 liter of water, 150ml of mild soap, and 5cl of bleach in a spray bottle, apply to the entire canvas, leave for 10 minutes, clean with a sponge, and rinse thoroughly.

If you prefer, opt for machine washing.Remove the cover, close the zippers, and wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle with your usual amount of detergent. If mold is present, add 5 cl of bleach (not suitable for polyester) and start the machine immediately to thoroughly dissolve the product. Once clean, always allow your canvas to air dry.

Finally, never store or close your parasol while the canopy is still damp to prevent mold, and keep it away from reflective surfaces or heating elements that could damage it. With these simple steps, your canopy will remain clean and in perfect condition, season after season.
