Materials

The Mistral 3x3m cantilevered windproof parasol hasan anti-corrosion treated aluminum structure, with internal steel reinforcementsThe flexible ribs are made of fiberglass. You can tilt the canopy of your parasol. The pole rotates 360°. Opening and closing are made easy with a removable aluminum crank.

You have a choice of three fabric materials for your parasol. They are all water-repellent and UV-resistant:

Our 100% recycled polyester fabric is our most affordable option. With its glossy finish, it's treated to minimize fading. However, some color fading may occur within a few months with heavy use. It's the ideal way to access Belveo's windproof technology at a lower cost.

Our olefin fabric, with its matte finish and silky feel, offers the best value for money. Its fibers are solution-dyed to ensure optimal colorfastness. It is also stain-resistant, mildew-resistant, and made in Spain.

Our high-end acrylic fabric is our most premium option. Designed to preserve the vibrancy of its colors, it is suitable for professional use. This micro-perforated fabric provides a pleasant feeling of coolness under the parasol, even on the hottest days. It is also stain-resistant, mildew-resistant, and made in Spain.

Guarantees and maintenance

The structure of the Mistral 3x3m cantilevered windproof parasol is3-year warrantyWe guarantee all our fabrics against fading and manufacturing defects.for 2 yearsOlefin and acrylic fabrics benefit from an extended guarantee against fading:5 years for olefin and 7 years for acrylic.

To keep your parasol in good condition, here are a few tips:

Maintenance advice:

Rinse regularly with fresh water. Use a sponge and a soap such as black soap toroutine maintenance of the structureDo not use corrosive products or brushes for cleaning. If the paint and undercoat are deeply scratched, apply a water-repellent varnish (clear or the same color as your product, ideally two-component) to prevent water/air penetration and rust formation.

Regarding the coverClean stains as soon as they appear to prevent them from setting in. For delicate care, hand washing is recommended: immerse the fabric in lukewarm water mixed with 150ml of mild soap per liter, gently rub with a sponge or soft brush, then rinse thoroughly and let it air dry. For more stubborn stains (except on polyester fabrics), a diluted bleach solution can be used: mix 1 liter of water, 150ml of mild soap, and 5cl of bleach in a spray bottle, apply to the entire fabric, leave for 10 minutes, clean with a sponge, and rinse thoroughly. If you prefer, machine wash: remove the cover, close the zippers, and wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle with your usual amount of detergent. In case of mold, add 5 cl of bleach (not suitable for polyester) and immediately run the washing machine to thoroughly dilute the product. Once clean, always allow your canopy to air dry. Finally, never store or close your parasol while the canopy is still damp to prevent mold growth, and keep it away from reflective surfaces or heating elements that could damage it. With these simple steps, your canopy will remain clean and in perfect condition, season after season.

Winter storage advice:

The parasol should be stored in a dry, sheltered place. Protective covers are available for purchase on our website.

What are the differences between polyester, olefin, and acrylic fabrics?

We offer three canvas options to meet your needs:

- Polyester canvasIdeal for a first investment, it offers excellent value for money. Its finish is light and glossy, but it may fade more quickly with heavy use or in direct sunlight. It's an affordable option for discovering our patented innovation.

- Olefin fabricOur best compromise between aesthetics, durability, and price. The color is infused into the fiber, retaining its vibrancy for years and offering superior resistance to fading (5-year guarantee). Its matte finish and soft feel are reminiscent of indoor fabrics, while providing the necessary durability for outdoor use. Water-repellent, it quickly wicks away moisture, dries in a flash after a downpour, and withstands splashes during poolside days. Easy to care for, it can be simply washed with soapy water or machine-washed at up to 30°C.

- Acrylic canvasThe benchmark in high-end fabrics, thanks to its exceptional performance under the most demanding conditions. Using a solution-dyeing process, the color pigments are integrated directly into the acrylic fiber while it is still liquid, creating a yarn that is colored throughout. The result: vibrant colors that resist UV rays and weathering, far surpassing those of conventional surface-dyed fabrics. We are so confident in the quality of this fabric that it comes with a 10-year guarantee against fading. It offers a perfect balance between performance and elegance, ideal for long-term, intensive, or professional use.

Furthermore, all our canopies are interchangeable: whether you wish to change its color or replace a worn canopy, the process is simple and quick to extend the life of your parasol.

Can I use the parasol in the rain?

The canopies of our parasols arewater-repellentThis means that water does not penetrate the parasol fabric up to a certain point (for example, during a very heavy downpour like a storm), unlike a waterproof fabric. The choice to be only water-repellent is linked to the primary use of the parasol. Our canvases allow air to circulate, preventing an oven-like effect in the summer. This is something a waterproof canopy wouldn't allow. In short, while they can be used in light rain, our parasols are not umbrellas. Rest assured, even a heavy downpour won't damage the canopy or the parasol itself. However, we recommend using a protective cover if you plan to leave your parasol in the rain, to protect the canopy over time.

What is the wind resistance of the parasol?

Belveo parasols aredesigned to withstand strong windsthanks to robust materials and apatented innovationOur parasols undergo strict controls during their manufacture, in accordance with ISO 2859 standards, guaranteeing impeccable quality. We prioritize...real-world testingbecause they better replicate the challenges posed by nature than a conventional wind tunnel. During our tests, they withstood winds of up to 90 km/h in a vertical position, under real-world conditions. However, it is essential to note that the nature of the wind influences resistance: a continuous wind of 50 km/h can sometimes be more destabilizing than a gust of 90 km/h.

To stay safe and protect your parasol, follow these recommendations:

- Use sufficient ballast (slabs or ground anchors).
- Close the parasol if the base becomes unstable or if the canopy remains flared.
- Do not use it above 60km/h in the open position and 80km/h in the closed position.

By following these instructions, you can enjoy yourself with complete peace of mind.

Is ballast included? What type of ballast do I need?

All cantilever parasols come with a cross base. Weighting is not included with our parasols, but it is essential for their stability. We offer several solutions tailored to your needs:

- Fillable slabsOur 50x50cm slabs are designed to be filled with water or sand. Note that sand has a higher weight than water for the same volume. For an offset parasol, use 100kg of ballast (4 slabs of at least 25kg each) or 120kg for a 3x4m model, using sand. Be aware that wet sand cannot be removed from the slabs. Allow for a ballast area of 1m².

- Feet to be fixedWe offer a fixed base for cantilever parasols to save ground space. It's the stylish solution for weighting down your parasol while avoiding paving slabs.

- Wheeled feetIf you're looking for a mobile solution, our wheeled base for cantilever parasols is perfect. Weighted with water and/or sand, it guarantees optimal stability while making it easy to move your parasol.

For safe and long-lasting use, always follow our weighting recommendations, which vary depending on the model and the layout of your space. Our recommendations are listed on the technical specifications of our parasols. Feel free to contact us for personalized advice.
