What are the differences between polyester, olefin, and acrylic fabrics?

We offer three canvas options to meet your needs:

-Polyester fabricIdeal for a first investment, it offers excellent value for money. Its finish is light and glossy, but it may fade more quickly with heavy use or in direct sunlight. It's an affordable option for discovering our patented innovation.

-Olefin fabricOur best compromise between aesthetics, durability, and price. The color is infused into the fiber, retaining its vibrancy for years and offering superior resistance to fading (5-year guarantee). Its matte finish and soft feel are reminiscent of indoor fabrics, while providing the necessary durability for outdoor use. Water-repellent, it quickly wicks away moisture, dries in a flash after a downpour, and withstands splashes during poolside days. Easy to care for, it can be simply washed with soapy water or machine-washed at up to 30°C.

-Acrylic canvasThe benchmark in high-end fabrics, thanks to its exceptional performance under the most demanding conditions. Using a solution-dyeing process, the color pigments are integrated directly into the acrylic fiber while it is still liquid, creating a yarn that is colored throughout. The result: vibrant colors that resist UV rays and weathering, far surpassing those of conventional surface-dyed fabrics. We are so confident in the quality of this fabric that it comes with a 7-year guarantee against fading. It offers a perfect balance between performance and elegance, ideal for long-term, intensive, or professional use.

Furthermore, all our canopies are interchangeable: whether you wish to change its color or replace a worn canopy, the process is simple and quick to extend the life of your parasol.

What is the wind resistance of parasols?

Belveo parasols aredesigned to withstand strong windsThanks to robust materials and patented innovation, our parasols undergo rigorous manufacturing controls, compliant with ISO 2859 standards, guaranteeing impeccable quality. We prioritize real-world testing, as it better replicates the challenges posed by nature than a conventional wind tunnel. During our trials,They withstood winds of up to 90km/hin a vertical position, under real-world conditions. However, it is essential to note that the nature of the wind influences the resistance:A continuous wind of 50km/h can sometimes be more destabilizing than a gust of 90km/h.

To stay safe and protect your parasol, follow these recommendations:

- Use sufficient ballast (slabs or ground anchors).
- Close the parasol if the base becomes unstable or if the canopy remains flared.
-Do not use it above 60km/h in the open position and 80km/h in the closed position.

By following these instructions, you can enjoy yourself with complete peace of mind.

Is ballast included? What type of ballast do I need?

All parasols are supplied with a cross base, with the exception of 2 models. The standard parasol is available in two sizes: a 2.75m diameter straight parasol and a 3x2m straight parasol. You will need a cross base if you wish to weigh down your parasol with paving slabs. While weighting is not included with our parasols, it is essential for their stability. We offer several solutions to suit your needs:

- Slabs to be filledOur 50x50cm slabs are designed to be filled with water or sand. Note that sand provides more weight than water for the same volume. For example, for a straight parasol, we recommend a total weight of 80kg (4 slabs of at least 20kg each). For an offset parasol, allow for 100kg of weight (4 slabs of at least 25kg each), or 120kg for a 3x4m model, using sand. Note that wet sand cannot be removed from the slabs. Allow for a weighted area of 1m².

-Feet to be fixedFor straight and cantilever parasols, we offer bases that can be fixed or cemented in place to save ground space. This is the stylish solution for weighting down your parasol while avoiding paving slabs.

-Wheeled feetIf you're looking for a mobile solution, our wheeled bases for straight and cantilever parasols are perfect. Weighted with water and/or sand, they guarantee optimal stability while making it easy to move your parasol.

For safe and long-lasting use, always follow our weighting recommendations, depending on the model and the configuration of your space. Our recommendations are indicated on the technical specifications of our parasols. Feel free to contact us for personalized advice.

Are the canvases interchangeable?

Yes, the canopies of our parasols are interchangeable. And changing them is very simple. Here are the steps:

1. Open the zippers on each fiberglass rib and bend them slightly to remove them.
2. Unscrew the "cap" located at the top of the parasol. This will allow you to remove the canopy by sliding it off from the top.
3. Install the new canvas by following the reverse steps: place it over the whalebone, close the zippers, then screw the hat back on to secure everything.

In just a few simple steps, your parasol can be restored to its original condition or adapted to your needs. Our interchangeable canopies are designed to offer you flexibility and durability, while remaining easy to handle.
